Gray House is a private cigar lounge located inside Cedar & Vine in Burlington, Iowa. Designed for those who value consistency and comfort, it provides a refined space to enjoy premium cigars without distraction.
Open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for members, Gray House is built around one principle: protect the atmosphere. The environment remains calm, respectful, and intentionally limited so every visit feels steady and familiar.
The Spaces
Lounge Room
The Lounge Room serves as the heart of Gray House. Deep, comfortable seating invites members to settle in and stay awhile. Lighting is warm and measured, creating an atmosphere that feels calm without feeling dim. The ventilation system is purpose built to maintain clean, balanced air, allowing cigars to be enjoyed properly without overwhelming the space. This is where conversations unfold naturally and evenings extend without interruption.
The Office
The Office Room offers a quieter, more focused setting within the house. Ideal for business discussions, smaller gatherings, or time spent alone, it provides a contained environment that supports concentration while maintaining comfort. The room is intentionally understated and practical. Members who prefer privacy will find it steady, controlled, and consistent every time they visit.
The Library
The Library Room is designed for a slower pace. With a more intimate atmosphere and softened lighting, it encourages reflection and unhurried conversation. The space feels composed and deliberate, creating a setting where the ritual of a cigar can be appreciated without distraction. Whether reading, thinking, or speaking quietly with a friend, the Library Room offers calm and focus while upholding the same standards found throughout Gray House.
House Rules & Guidelines
Gray House operates on mutual respect. Membership provides access, and that access carries responsibility. The atmosphere remains consistent because members choose to protect it.
Respect the Environment
Voices, music, and phone use should remain considerate at all times. Speakerphone calls and loud conversations are not appropriate within the lounge.
Respect Fellow Members
Disagreements, politics, and disruptive behavior have no place here. The room should remain calm and welcoming to all members.
Guests
Guests must be accompanied by a member at all times. Members are responsible for the conduct of their guests and ensuring they follow house guidelines.
BYOB Policy
Members may bring their own beverages. Please drink responsibly. Excessive intoxication or disruptive behavior will not be tolerated.
Cleanliness
Return furnishings to their original position. Dispose of ash and trash properly. Leave the space as you would expect to find it.
Cigar Etiquette
Only properly stored cigars may be smoked. Please use designated ashtrays and avoid placing cigars on furniture or ledges.
Security & Access
24/7 access is a privilege. Do not share entry credentials or allow unauthorized individuals into the lounge.
Protect the Atmosphere
Gray House exists to provide a steady, refined environment. Any behavior that disrupts that environment may result in suspension or termination of membership.
